Professional Background

Early Career (2000-2006)

Cedric commenced his career in 2000 as a visual effects assistant at Discreet Smoke, where he worked on TribalX, a complex full CG/MoCap production for children, and managed the network infrastructure in a small post-production facility. Subsequently, he transitioned to a technical support engineer role at Post Logic, a French VFX system reseller, supporting a wide range of products for CG animation, MoCap, visual effects, and color grading. In 2002, he spearheaded the implementation of the first industrial digital intermediate pipeline at Éclair Laboratoires, utilizing Colorfront Colossus, and later deployed the technology across various locations in Europe.

Entrepreneurial Ventures (2006-2015)

In 2006, Cedric founded Workflowers, a consulting and training services company, assisting film labs in their transition to digital. He also aided post-production companies in entering the cinema industry. His expertise encompassed digital cinema and video workflows, infrastructures, and color science. He managed the setup of early ACES color pipelines in Digital Cinema and Visual Effects facilities. His pioneering work on online collaborative environments and content management tools established him as an expert in cloud workflows for media production. Workflowers’ image processing tools were extensively utilized by major studios worldwide, and the wfx plugins for Autodesk Lustre contributed to the development of the signature black&white, grainy look of Paperman, a Disney short film that won an Academy Award.

Corporate Experience (2015-2020)

In 2015, Cedric joined the European cinema group Ymagis to oversee the technology for the post-production and cinema mastering facilities within the group, spanning locations in New York, London, Liège, Berlin, Barcelona, and Paris. The integration of Eclair Laboratoires broadened the range from cinema to broadcasters and streamers, presenting an opportunity to develop a century-old brand. He assembled the technology & innovation team to create more efficient and global workflows across the group and led the development team for EclairColor, the HDR solution for cinema. He developed four patents for content transport and rendering for cinema display technologies and relocated to California to promote and demonstrate the technology to Hollywood studios. Additionally, he initiated the Eclairgames project, which proposed egaming competitions in cinemas.

Recent Endeavors (2020-Present)

In 2020, while continuing R&D efforts for EclairColor and developing HDR and HFR image technologies for the Chinese market, he revived Workflowers to assist media industries in their transition to a more sustainable model. With his team of media engineers, he provides services to content studios and broadcasters, building and implementing organizational and technical strategies with sustainability in mind. In 2023, he established HOLLI, a consulting company helping media organizations integrate new business paradigms, with a data-centric approach to align innovation and sustainability strategies. He continues his consulting with Fast&Young, aiding media companies in understanding technology and tech companies in comprehending media.

Cedric is a member of Commission Supérieure Technique (CST), Visual Effects Society (VES), Society of Motion Pictures Technicians and Engineers (SMPTE) and Hollywood Professionals Association (HPA).  He Is a member of the EBU Sustainability group, the SMPTE Cloud Sustainability working group and a founding member of La Cartouch’Verte, an association to promote good environmental practices in animation movies production. He also has a lecture at Université Polytechnique des Hauts-de-France about the Evolution of Content Production with Technology and a course about Eco-designing for Media Engineers.
